LA is an average pro sports town. People have a lot of options and so following a team has to compete with a lot of other stuff. However, if you're into outdoor activities - it's a paradise. Hiking, Biking, Boarding, Surfing, Swimming, Kayaking, Paddle Boarding, body surfing and everything else is incredibly easy to do. The popular image of LA is a smog ridden traffic pit. The reality is that if you want to get active outdoors there are very few better large cities in the world. Hike in the Santa Monica Mountains, surf in Malibu, Venice, or Huntington. Get outside. It's always sunny and warm enough.
