Teenagers will be so bored, you'll feel guilty for months. But, little kids and art enthusiasts will enjoy the view, the collection and spending a day in this cool collection courtesy of the Gettys.
Make sure to get to the museum early sometimes they run out of parking(it is free). After you park you need to get on the tram and that will take you to the museum up the hill, you cant drive there.
There are some very famous paintings here and they let you photograph most of them. Another amazing thing is that they let you get right up next to the pictures as long as you don't touch.
The museum is broken up into 6 or 7 buildings that are mostly connected. When you get tired or hungry there is a great courtyard to rest and some good places to eat.
I personally enjoy the architecture of the museum more than the collections themselves. You should spend some time to walk in the Center Garden. It's worthwhile.
First class architecture and location on the hills; the collection is second class (compared to European collections).

The building and the museum were much anticipated and finally opened in 2001.
I haven't been, but I've driven by it and it looks impressive.
