First class architecture and location on the hills; the collection is second class (compared to European collections).
JP Getty Museum
The building and the museum were much anticipated and finally opened in 2001.
I haven't been, but I've driven by it and it looks impressive.
Towards the south side of the Getty Center is a lovely cactus garden that overlooks the a fantastic view of the City of Los Angeles. We were there on a beautiful clear warm day!
Teenagers will be so bored, you'll feel guilty for months. But, little kids and art enthusiasts will enjoy the view, the collection and spending a day in this cool collection courtesy of the Gettys.
I personally enjoy the architecture of the museum more than the collections themselves. You should spend some time to walk in the Center Garden. It's worthwhile.
