When visiting Hollywood, no trip is complete without going to see the Hollywood walk of fame. There are loads of stars on the sidewalks, and they go on for blocks and blocks and blocks, take pics of your favourite celebs, and then also Mann's Chinese Theatre is also work the visit to see if your hand/footprints matches that of your idols.
Walt Disney's Jungel Book was the first movie I ever saw in a cinema - and I've been addicted ever since. He once said, "if you can dream it you can do it" - I'm working on that and that's why Walt Disney's star is on my page.
I find it really interesting to check the star's on other members' vt-l.a. pages and read their stories...
Along Hollywood Blvd Walk of Fame, amongst the gaudy shops and tourist traps is The Erotic Museum. Downstairs just looks like a gift shop/museum store but the gallery/exhibits upstairs are definitely worth a look and well worth the price. There are some awesome displays, beautiful and cool art, funny and interesting "toys" - a real hands on experience. I was a lone female traveller at 10pm on a Friday night and I felt completely safe in the area and the museum.
Park your car in the neighbourhood (in a safe spot) and stroll along Hollywood Boulevard. The interesting part (the Walk of Fame and Mann's Chinese Theater) are in the western part of the boulevard. West of the junction with Vine St. Here you will find lots of Hollywood stars beneath your feet.
In front of Mann's Chinese Theater (a cinema built as a Chinese temple, and one of the most famous cinemas in the world) you can find handprints of many famous stars in the concrete as well.
You ever think about the history of Hollywood? All the stars who have graced the big screen. Well they all get special stars and you can just take a stroll along Hollywood Blvd. and see them all, from Fred Astaire to Arnold Schwarzenegger.
It's not that exciting, not even such a pretty area, but it is interesting to see all the stars on the sidewalk. If you look in front of Manns Chinese Theater, it is cool to see the handprints and/or footprints of celebrities.
Hollywood Walk Of Fame
Theres no mistaking what town you're in when gaze down at the sidewalk and see these world famous gold stars. Encompassing a stretch of Hollywood Boulevard near the intersection of Hollywood and Vine, more than 2500 bronze-inlaid stars commemorate some of the most famous individuals in movies, radio, tv, recording, and theater.
If you want to know about Hollylwood Legends old and new, check out the 'Walk of Fame' between Gower and La Brea on Hollywood Boulevard. Check out the hand and footprints of famous ones at the Mann's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood Blvd. too. Would you want more info. on movie-making, don't miss Universal Studios and its CityWalk (fun hangout even among locals). Other studios such as Paramount Pictures also welcome visitors to the taping of some TV shows for free if you don't mind standing on line (like 'Frasier', Dr. Phil & others)(just check with their Guest Relations Office). During the summer, if you are a fan of the L.A. Philharmonic Opera, you can see them at the Hollywood Bowl (which is open seating and a nice place for the romantic, concert lovers). They have concerts too and if you're into musicals, check out the Pantages (on Hollywood Blvd.) or the Ahmanson theatre (in downtown L.A.). There are really lots of plays (comedies, musicals) going on just like New York city (pick up the L.A. Weekly for dates/ticket info.) so L.A. is just a happening place too, just like our NY family.
Hollywood's walk of fame is a way of meeting your favourite star even if it was only a sidewalk. All in all it is a real touris trap.
The walk of fame is great ONLY if you are travelling with people are enjoy "Hollywood" culture. That means: Celebrities!
Everybody you ever heard of and a few more. This starts at Grauman's Chinese Theater and continues up Hollywood Blvd for a good half mile.
For USD1 you could get a snapshot with a Superman impersonator on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Or rather, Superman to the rescue? Up, up and away!
So many of them!!!! Didn't manage to find some of my favourite idols' stars or hand print because we didn't have much time searching for it. But managed to get a few people I admire.
I liked to look at the famous people's stars from the walk of fame but it was mostly old celebertys. But I did find some "newer" ones. For example the Michael Jackson star.
In front of Chinese Theater, you can find the famous 'Walk of Fame'. There are several stars with the names of the famous stars on them. You can find your favorite stars here.
