Huntington Beach, Los Angeles
While visiting Los Angeles, there is a great beach community just 30 minutes south that has great beaches, beautiful pier, and fun shops to buy great variety of things. My favorite is the Electric Chair in downtown Huntington Beach, just four blocks from the HB pier. It is a punk rock/alternative clothing store that has mild to wild clothing and accessories for everyone from the cool clubber to the hip alterna mom and all the radical high school kids and even baby and toddler stuff. Whatever you need to look cool, Electric Chair has it. And Huntington Beach California is the place to wear the hip threads and show it off!
Huntington Beach is a very pleasant beachtown in Orange County (south of LA). It's also known as Surf City, USA (or at least that's what the city of Huntington Beach calls itself!). It is a very nice family-friendly community with beautiful houses, a pleasant beach, and some cute boutiques and shops. Apparently it is also very popular with Disneyland-goers as it's only 15 minutes away from Disney. While Southern California can be very hot at times, I've found Huntington Beach always to have very comfortable temperatures (when everywhere else is 90, Huntington is about 80 or so..). I have also found Huntington locals to be very nice and amicable.
Huntington Beach is the host of the US Open of Surfing and the OP Pro.
In the summertime loads of surfers and Bobyboarders are here. And a lot of people go to the beach and hang out and maybe flirt a little bit. They had a sk8 compatition here when I was here summer 2002.
