  • Stroll down to the Pier to watch the sunset

Incredibly enough you can get away from the city vibe by walking a few blocks to the pier and all the way to the end of it. You will get to the fishermans zone and listen to the ocean to watch an incredible LA Sunset. On the way there you can enjoy a delicious icecream or a good cup of joe.

    The Pier Was Pure Pleasure

by onestepaway Written Jun 4, 2007

If you have time while you are in California all of Santa Monica is a must see! I highly recommend this place to any traveller, like I stated during this trip, it was a short trip and we were limited on time, but we went back here because it was that special and we both love the water. The pier was hopping both time we went and the views around the pier are to be remembered. There is a small amsuement park located on the pier along with great spots for fishing and a bar at both ends of the pier. There was alot of things to get into here. Take a trip down Wilshire as well.

On the way... The Amusement Park

The west end of the pier is a popular location for anglers. During the summer months the pier is venue to free weekly outdoor concerts, movies, and other family friendly activities.

    Sunny Santa Monica

    by meteorologist1 Written Jun 25, 2005

To enjoy the sunny weather of southern California, the perfect place to do it is in Santa Monica, located by the Pacific coast west of downtown Los Angeles. It is a good place to dine and shop, and most importantly, go to the beach. The Santa Monica Pier has a lot of fun activities for the whole family as well as a lot of street performers to entertain you. Santa Monica also marks the western end of the historic Route 66.

Santa monica pier is a place where you can just relax and enjoy the waves of the ocean. They have some rides like a ferris wheel and a carousel that I'm sure kids will enjoy. They also have a bunch of different shops selling little knick nacks and food like ice cream, hot dogs, pizza etc. I would not recommend going into that water because it is a pretty poluted beach. If you actually want to go in the water go to malibu or zuma

Spend an afternoon on the pier, for the carnival atmosphere...
Of course, you could get a carnival atmosphere walking down Sunset Boulevard any Saturday night...

There are so many great beaches along southern California. Santa Monica is one place to go. You have the pier, the beach and the promenade with shops and restaurants.

Santa Monica. Naturally there's the pier and the beach, typically LA. You may also enjoy the (pedestrian) mall.
