I decided to try & hone my couch potato skills by looking at a bit more than just the flickering screen.
Not really knowing where to begin, I was approached on Venice Beach by a guy giving away tickets to TV tapings.
While I didn't make it to the Whoopi show, I did manage to catch a few others, and it's really quite interesting how things work behind the camera.
I was lucky enough to win this trip to LA, which included a VIP tour of Paramount Studios, and VIP treatment at a taping of 'Spin City'. Seeing a show taped really gives you an inside look at all the work that goes into a half-hour sitcom. We got to meet Heather Locklear, she was so nice!
Want to see celebrities? Don't expect them to be everywhere. It's a matter of being at the right place at the right time. If you really want to see celebrities, I suggest an easy way: Go to Universal Citywalk which is adjacent to Universal Studios and sign up to see TV tapings. We went to see tapings of 2 Guys and Girl and Tonight Show with Jay Leno (the guests for that night was Kelly Preston, Jay Mohr and the Cranberries.) It's a great way to see stars and learn how shows are produced!
Veronica's New Boss.
