It's nice to sit in the sand at the beach and look at all the people surfing and swiming. Unfortunatly the water isn't the cleanest ... but it's up to you if you want to swim in the poluted water or not ...

This place is crazy!
You find every kind of people at this street. It is such a mixture of people from extreme to normal.
It is a lot of stores here from sovenuires to clothes.
And best of all ... everything is so cheap here!!
They have a tennislane, a basketlane and a gym. All of them outdoor. And a lot of people are inlining and skating. Pay attention to a guy that inlines and play guitarr. He is always here. And he is crazy!
It's a lot of people performing at the street with severals of activites for example acting and playing music.
You can sit in a outdoor restaurant or cafe and just look at all the people that comes along and be entertained.
The stores here closes around 6. I would advise you not to go here at night. It seems to be a 'bad area' with drugs here. But that is just my view of it I can be wrong.
Walk along the Venice Canals
Beautiful little canals (with ducks!) near Venice Beach. A good place to see LA's eclectic residential architecture - little boho cottages next to million-dollar ultra-modern houses. If the blinds aren't drawn, you can peek in the windows - that's how close you are to the houses. This is where I will live if I win the Lottery.
VENICE BEACH......Colourful characters along the boardwalk. Nice outdoor basketball courts.
SANTA MONICA.....Check out the 3rd Street Promenade and the Pier. Ballers can get a good run at Memorial Recreation Center....best to go on the weekends (1401 Olympic Boulevard) LAGUNA BEACH.....Great beaches, nice surroundings.
One of the most urban beaches, there are lots of people, lots of noise and lots of stuff. It's great fun on the weekend. Everyone I've talked to has seen this guy that is an institution on Venice. He roller blades up and down the pavillion playing a guitar in a full-on turban playing the guitar all day, every day...It adds a nice feeling to Venice. This is also the place to pick up cheap T-shirts for everybody...not good quality...but definitely cheap! You can get 4 T-shirts for 10 bucks.

This is the place to see gorgeous muscles during the Powerlifting Contests, Physique Contests (a Muscle Beach Classic) held from May to October. This August 26th is “Iron Warrior 2000” a festival of Strength Pentathlon (sled pull, shot put, strict curl, bench press & farmer’s walk).

Go to Venice Beach on the weekend, and check out Santa Monica too! They have a really neat street called the Promenade that has tons of street vendors and performers on Weekend nights. It's great to just sit in a cafe and watch the fun as you eat dinner!
The guy with the psychic cats on the Promenade....they may not be psychic.....but they are sooooooo cute!! They are all dressed up and trained to 'hand you' your specific fortune that they select for you. It's adorable....too bad I didn't have the camera!
Probably the most famous beach in the city. You'll see lots of people rollerblading. You'll also see more huge bodybuilders here than anywhere in the world. The Gold's Gym in Venice is a weight-lifter's Mecca.
You can rent bikes or rollerblades and just cruise around and people-watch.
Venice Beach Boardwalk
This is where I instinctively head whenever I am in LA. This seems to me to be the focal point of the cities' culture. Also great place to eat, shop and people watch.
