Los Olivos Local Customs

Los Olivos is now wine country, but it still is the home to many ranches and the fight is on to maintain the ranch when the grape is calling. The wine business is booming in the Santa Ynez Valley and Los Olivos is the center of the action. Many a ranch has gone from cattle and horses to vineyards. Those that want to maintain the country image and live the lifestyle of a rancher while amonst the vineyards are the lucky ones. You will see many a fine ranch property in Los Olivos and right next door may not be another rancher but a vineyard. For now there is peace in the valley, but look out. That beautiful ranch on the hill may one day give way to the vinter and their vineyards.
