Its not as hot as people think!
Luggage and bags: Anything will do... it doesnt matter, it doesnt rain here...and if it does, its not usual except for a little dribble.. So pack anything thats comfortable i guess!
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: If your planning on going to the beach (which you probably are) sandals would be fine... If your going out for a nice evening, woman can wear high heels, and men can wear dress shoes. Depending on where your going, differs on what you should wear. Tee shirts and jeans are fine... just bring a light sweater and your uggs and you'll fit in!
Photo Equipment: A regular camera will do.... and if u have a zoom lens i suggest you bring that as well.. Film you can use anywhere from ISO 200 to maybe even 400. No need for any filters unless you want to take sunset shots which you might want too after seeing our sunsets!!
Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: There are several camp sites around in Malibu but the only one i have been to was at Leo Carrillo. Its a very beautiful and safe area and you can have two choices, to camp on the beach or in the "forest" near a little creek. Another good camp site my dad keeps telling me about is at Malibu Creek State Park. Its supposed to have great wildlife looking with beautiful hiking trails and a real nice feel to it. Look either one up, they both are superb! There are also some others up on Mulholland Drive in the Santa Monica mountains. Gorgeous if you've never been!
Miscellaneous: Bring sun block and some shades. It can get pretty bright out!
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Hiking
Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: Even though you're near the ocean, you should bring plenty of water because it can get hot up in the Malibu hills. the picture shows the junction of Bull Dog Motorway and Castro Motorway which is part of what's called the Malibu Backbone Trail.
