This "Cafe" which is probably my favorite restaurant I've ever been to. It has such a great "BEACH" theme/feeling to it, that the first time i ever walked in it blew me away. There are two places you can sit. Inside and out. Outside, there are wooden beach chairs that you can tilt back and tables to place your food under big beach umbrellas and on a white sandy beach. The water is soooo blue and calm, its the most relaxing thing to look at, and gives you that feeling like you are at an Island resort off in the South Pacific. Inside, the walls have 100's of old photos of Malibu with labels to tell you what the photo is of, dating way back to the early 1800's. The place just has this welcoming feel to it that I've never experienced in my LIFE at a restaurant... its simply amazing, very, very amazing!
Favorite Dish: My favorite dish would have to be the Swedish Pancakes of course ;) I order that every time I go whether its morning, noon or night! Ugh omg they are amazing!
But if your not into that, PCC offers some really exotic choices with mouth watering results!
Because being located so close to the ocean they have excellent seafood if you like lobster or shell fish, personally I only stick to Salmon and thats kind of it with seafood for me.
If you have children-- the chicken fingers are top notch. And surprisingly enough, they are not fried so you wont have to worry about giving your kid hypertention at an early age ;)

As I was driving along PCH, I noticed a sign that read Paradise Cove Cafe. I thought this would be interesting considering I was hungry at the moment and I didn't want to drive any further north. I had a time limitation.
At first I thought I was risk taking a chance to eat here since it was kind of in the middle of nowhere. At the end I was glad to have made that decision because it turned out to be a very nice experience.
It's situated right on the beach. What more can you ask for? The ambience was nice inside and outside. The hosts and waiters were nice as well. On top of that the food was great.
Favorite Dish: I had one of the best clam chowders ever. It was so rich, creamy, and tasty. I can taste the chunks of clams. I also had a crab cake sandwich, which was good as well. I would recommend those thoe iterms. In addition I had a coke. It cost a little more than normal but it was worth it if you want good food in the middle of nowhere. The beautiful setting also enhances the whole experience as well.
Parking is free for 3 hours. Any minute or second over 3 hours will cost you $25. So plan well if you decide to make it a day trip. There are other stops further along the way too that you would enjoy.

Sushi is a MUST in Los Angeles, and especially Malibu...feel all trendy and West-Coasty as you stop in for either carryout or pull up a stool to the bar at ZOOMA SUSHI. It's kind of hidden behind some bushes right off of Pacific Coast Highway up at Point Dume...you really have to look for it.
Also in Malibu there is Duke's, which several other people have described on pages here, so I won't really spend time on it...but it DOES have great food.
Johnnie's Pizza is a cheap and pretty quick dinner option...they have wonderful New York-style pizzas at very decent prices, and are always really friendly.
Duke's has the BEST view of the ocean...and the rocks are right next to the window, which means the surf hits them and makes a dramatic little show for you. Good deal.
Favorite Dish: At ZOOMA SUSHI: Get the GANJA SUSHI or the VEGAS ROLL. Their TEMPURA SHRIMP HANDROLL is also fabulous.
At DUKE'S: Get the OPAH (Hawaiian Moonfish), and order it PARMESIAN HERB CRUSTED. It will be the best fish you've had in your life, I promise.
At JOHNNIE'S: Their garlic herb knots are wonderful, and you can't go wrong with any of their pizzas. Their pastas aren't fabulous, but are filling and pretty tasty.

Address: drive up and down PCH. You'll find 'em.
Eat on wooden benches, most likely with your hands to get through the trickier fishes.
The clientele includes a healthy population of surfers and bikers out for a Sunday drive, as well as seafood lovers from all over the Southland.
Pick out your seafood from the tanks and the cooks will steam or broil it for you.
Some weekends can see several hundred bikers out for a weekend run.

Dukes is a popular local restaurant that sits on the ocean on Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu. The restaurant pays homage to Duke's main name sake, Duke Kahanamoku and there are surfboards and memorbilia of Duke and other great surfers on the walls. The food is good and there are great ocean views. On a good day you can see Dolphins, sea lions, and sometimes whales. The restaurant also has a Barefoot Bar which offers appetizers and drinks.
Favorite Dish: Their Sunday Brunch is the best. Crab Wontons are great appetizers. Also the Breaded Macadamian fresh fish is great and Caesar salad too

This is the same one you will see in Huntington Beach and in Hawaii. It is right on the water. It's a big restaurant that's somewhat reminiscent of Charthouse, but much better with a lot more personality. Approx. US$20-25/person.
Favorite Dish: The halibut and swordfish dishes are excellent! So is pretty much every other seafood dish here. Could it be because that's what it's known for???

This place is a Malibu landmark. It's an old rustic bar from the 1920s. On the walls are numerous photos of famous celebrities, and not so famous, that have visited the restaruant. The bar is frequented by biker dudes, but the restaurant is perfect for a family lunch. Waitresses are friendly and the atmosphere is typical California coast.
Favorite Dish: They serve seafood, BBQ, Burgers, BLTs, numerous sandwiches and salads, all are tasty and hearty. Their menu is fairly extensive. They have really good onion rings.

It's a small seaside restaurant, and they have heated patio where you can sit and enjoy your food while watchin the ocean and passing traffic. It's a warm and friendly place with a lot of bikers that stop by to munch :)
There's a lot of parking space available if you're there in the morning, but in the afternoon it does get packed most especially in the weekends. So you might have to park by the highway or across the street.
Favorite Dish: Freshest seafood I ever had in So Cal. Get the steamed clams, it's out of this world!

ahhh gladstones in malibu what a great place to eat and really enjoy life...i guess that's if you don't mind the wait to sit outside overlooking the ocean. coming from vegas i gladly wait each time i visit gladstones..the inside is a bit tacky they have pnut shells all over the place, but i never sit inside so who cares..the food is a bonus to the view, everything i've tried here is great. but the clam chowder new england style is the best i've ever had in my life and i've been to cape cod and had the real deal.. also i get the blue crab cocktail each time i come here..
Favorite Dish: i splurge and get the king crab legs, they are the biggest crab legs ever!!!!!!

The Inn of the Seventh Ray is a weird, wonderful, magical place that is nestled in a kind of faery lit garden on the hills of Topanga Canyon. The Inn, originally a kind of commune of new age nuts who had some kind of philosophy about the planet venus and forcefields and other half baked ideas, still has a little new age tinges to it, but it's been subdued and muted and the Inn now functions as a beautiful restaurant with great food in an absolutely magical setting. You'll dine in a garden of fountains, flowers, and oaks hung with faery lights. It's hushed and magical. The food is very good (used to be rated on a Karmic scale) now it's just standard menu. All the food is fresh, organic, tasty and delicously prepared. Go at night for the magic or go for brunch when you can mix it up with rock stars, porn stars, normal folks, and your standard malibu moms. There's a new age bookstore near the entrance where you can find out who to get your Aura massaged and Chi vaccuumed or whatever if you're so incline. THIS PLACE IS NOT TO BE MISSED Make sure to make reservations.
