    A Thoughtful City

    Taking it all in

Favorite thing: The aqua colored rails in this photo surrounded a parking lot between the beach and Beaches Restaurant where I parked my car. It wasn't until I took this photo that I noticed the little platform in the corner--see the couple resting on the rail as they watch the scene below?

What a thoughtful thing for the city to do. The vantage point offered a view of the pier, beach and part of the town. A great place to take photos from!

    BTW, that Shellback Tavern:
    (116 Manhattan Beach Blvd.
    Manhattan Beach, CA 90266
    (310) 376-7857) looked pretty interesting!

Later, I went up to the platform too.

Favorite thing: Clean and Green Quality!

Manhattan Beach is very clean and eco-friendly town. Especially along the beach and downtown area, there are disposal boxes dedicated for recycables, not just general trash boxes for every toss worthy item. City government, residents and visitors keep the place very clean. This is especially appreciated while walking throught the sand and shore.

Favorite thing: Rock n' Fish restaurant is the best place in town for atmosphere, bar, and food. You can go casual, (it's right off the beach) or more formal, with three seating areas. The bar is one of the most beautiful I've ever seen, and the service is great. The oak grill is unique, and makes the best fish and steaks around.

Fondest memory: Downtown Manhattan Beach on weekend mornings. Lots of kids and dogs. It's a feeling of a small community.

    Let's go!

This is not a sight you'll see everyday... hey, it's California! Hollywood spirit... ;-)
