El Tarasco has been around since the dawn of time. Located at Rosecrans and Highland, you won't get a better Mexican meal, unless you travel South of the Border. (And, I'm not even sure of that) If you can get a seat, great...if, not, just take it to go. Food is served Pronto! And, did I mention it's very inexpensive. You'll find locals and business suits here. Folks that find El Tarasco ain't no dummies!!!
Favorite Dish: I usually order a la carte...enchilada queso and taco asado or carne. Plenty to make you gasp for air. They, also, serve a daily special. And the Burritos are the size of Texas for a mere $7. Great eats!!!!
El Tarasco is a "burrito renowned", fast serving, seat yourself Mexican cafe that beats any chain Mexican food joint in the South Bay. There is a wide variety of items on the menu and everything is cheap (under $10 a dish) and the a la carte menu is perfect for someone on a budget or wanting a light meal. There is a location on Sepulveda Blvd. and another location on highland avenue & Rosecrans Avenue (much closer to the ocean) . Each cafe is small (10 tables) draws a lot of customers and runs daily specials that range from $1 beer and $1 taco on Thursdays to drink and burrito combonations on Monday. Yummy food; nice service...perfect for a quick meal and ideal for bringing the kids. I always see families coming home from soccer practice or baseball games here.
Favorite Dish: Any Burrito!
"El T" is the best fast food mexican....the salsa is fabulous and my buddy Manuel runs the little joint.....great "after drinking" food, "sports watching" food, too tired to make dinner food, you name the occasion, El T hits the spot every time!!!
Favorite Dish: Bean, cheese and rice burrito is my staple order...however, there are times when I do venture away and order 2 chicken tacos or the chicken enchilada plate!!!
Hole in the wall Mexican food. After a long day at the beach or a long night at the bars, El Tarasco (or El T) is unbeatable. There have been many other El T's opened recently, but the original is in Manhattan Beach on the corner of Highland and Rosecrans. There isn't much seating inside... only about 10 seats, so you may have to take it to go. Don't expect to get warm service from the employees... they know their food is good and the people keep coming back so they don't kiss any ass.
Favorite Dish: For first timers... get the chicken tacos. You won't be dissapointed. I still order that at least half the time. The other half, I'll get the burritos, the enchiladas, the carne asada plate... it's all good. With every order, you get a heaping portion of chips and salsa. You won't leave El T hungry.
