Roundhouse Marine Lab

A round building at the end of the pier, "Roundhouse Marine Lab" holds an aquarium which includes an exhibit of the native flora and fauna of the area. Questions about the creatures in the aquaria and touch takens will be answered by docents who are happy to share their knowledge. This is a great place for the kids and parents alike. There is a small "donation" of about $2.00 suggested.

Manhattan Beach Roundhouse

The Roundhouse was rebuilt in 1992 and now holds an interesting little marine aquarium. Kids will love the close up and personal marine life that they can gently touch with their finger. (I did it too!)

Under renovation

There is an aquarium at the end of the Manhattan Beach pier, which is nice to visit.

As of a month ago the place was under renovation and they promise that it will be better than it was before and will reopen in January 2003.

They had a collection of sea life that you could pet if you wanted and they provide so much information on the local sea life.

Bring the kids...
And remember to leave a donation in the tank.

The aquarium has free admission but donations are accepted. The aquarium is small and not fancy at all but kids love this place because they are able to see a few different fish and there are some that you can even touch, like starfish and stingrays. There are tours sometimes but mostly its a self guided tour but there are people there that can answer any questions you might have and give you lots of info on the different fish that they have.
There is also a little place where kids can sit down and read about sea creatures and do activities.
