Look at all those windows! by lmkluque What is worse than finding something you'd love to have only to realize that it is beyond your means? Look at this house! Who wouldn't want to buy it and move in? I sure would! If this isn't to your liking, just look north and south of the peir, I'm sure that you'd see something that would call to you as this beautiful house screamed out at me.
Anyone familiar with my pages knows that I believe it is only the traveler's frame of mind that defines a tourist trap. Well, now you know mine.
If living in such a house, along a lovely beach in a charming little town, is one of your dreams then I'd advise to look only west, out to the ocean and don't turn around. Leave a Comment

The Manhattan Beach pier is lovely to gaze at from the beach but to venture down the wooden boardwalk is an entirely different adventure in the summertime. Once on the boardwalk, you have fisherman (typically from inland Los Angeles) who are catching fish, gutting them on the spot, and leaving their entrails for the seagulls and pedestrians. Although Manhattan Beach Pier is not always a crash course in fish guts, it certainly changes your experience when you have rotting fish and fish parts strewn about and the smell wafting towards your nose. My suggestion, go out on the pier in the winter time... it's colder and winder but you will most definitely avoid the summer fish gutting extravaganza.
Walk out on the pier once....in the winter...not in the middle of summer.
