    Romantic

Get romantic at the "Glow" bar in the Marina Marriott Hotel. This gathering spot is outdoors under the stars, with cozy patio seating, semi-private areas and features little romatic cabanas that you can reserve for your romantic evening -- or an evening out with the girls or guys.

The whole area is lit by a large fireplace and soft, glowing candles. Any season is right as there are outdoor heaters to keep the winter chill at bay, and of course, the Marina breezes to cool the summer nights. Order your drinks and an appetizer and enjoy the comfortable seating outdoor. Several nights a week -- almost always on the weekends -- there is live entertainment to help you while away the evening.

Dress Code: Dressy causual -- it is the Marina, afterall!

    The Otheroom: Happy Hour!

    by AP72 Updated Sep 16, 2006

The otheroom is always packed. The people are awesome and it's a great way to start off the evening. They don't care what you are wearing....After all, its Venice Beach. You can even bring your dog inside and have him hang out with you.

The only downer is there is no food. They only serve different types of beer and wine. Don't worry though, because you have Hal's and Joe's are in walking distance.

    Dress Code: Anything you want...

Remember, you're in L.A., so if I listed all the places you should go to, VT's server is not going to have enough memory to carry this info, so I'll just confine this list to the same three areas.

    1. James' Beach/Canal Club - Venice
    2. Baja Cantina (Summer Sundays - Mid to late afternoons - MDR)
    3. Voda's Martini Bar - SM
    4. Gotham Hall - SM (dancing/Pool Hall)
    5. Renee's - SM
    6. Pink's - SM (dancing)
    7. 217 Broadway - SM (dancing)
    8. Circle Bar - SM
    9. Buffalo Club - SM
