Well it's official..! I have joined the ranks of a racing yachtsman. This was taken at Santa Monica Windjammers Yacht Club. My boat was christened by my close friends who stood by my side and gave me the best advice I could ever get....you only live once!

    Thanks everybody!

    Racing Sailboats

Think racing sailboats is for millionaires in the America's Cup! Think again....In the summer months, there is a Series sponsored by Cal Yacht Club called the Sunset Series. Every Wednesday Night from Memeorial Day to Labor Day. There are a number of captains needing crew. TIP FOR GUYS: Girls love it when they hear, " Let's meet up after my sailboat race!"
Pure adrenaline when your boat is on the starting line with ten other competitors trying to get clear wind. You fight for postion, crossing other boats, tacking, ducking, trying to get on the layline. You round the Windward Mark, set your spinnaker and head for the Marina. Pure fun! Send me an Email if you want to try this!

    The Venice Canals

This a very cool section of Marina Del Rey. Unfortunately it is also fairly secluded and very easy to miss. Take a stroll around the area and it will give a sensation of being away from the high energy stream of the beach activities.

All boats must follow the RRR rule, which is Right-Red-Return. This is so returning boats won't collide with outgoing boats.

Sail boats take the center lane in the channel. Power boats take the outside lanes.
