Explore Mendocino Headlands State Park. This park surrounds the town on the north, west, and south. There's a short drive around the headlands with a few viewpoints. There's a hiking trail along that same stretch.
Fantastic coastline. Look for whales migrating. There's a whale festival here in March! The arch in the pic was a surprise, taken at the first viewpoint I came to.
This park nearly covers the coast line of Mendocino. Nice to explore and a great place to watch the sunset.
Drive along the beach highway, stop at the scenic spots. Here's a few pictures from some scenic spots in and around Mendocino.
This was the view from the front of the house that my good friends rented along the coast. We sat and watched whales spout while we sipped wine. And the sunsets....... ahhhhh.
There are a million gorgeous views along Highway 1. This photo was taken from a pullout just south of the town of Mendocino.
