Romantic Evenings on the Beach: A Dream Come True!

    Awe Inspiring

After the sun goes down the beach is less crowded and the texture of the area changes. Songs have been written about strolling hand-in-hand along the beach and for several reasons it is a magical thing to do.

Mission Beach at night is one of my favorite places. The crowds are gone and it is easier to hear the roar of the ocean and feel the cool breeze. The view of nothing but the darkening sky, the Pacific Ocean and it's waves is awesome, inspiring and with the right person holding your hand, romantic. Dont' miss this opportunity.

Mission Beach has a few bars/nightclubs, actually any thing from getting a bottle at the liquor store, The Wave House, to a hotel lounge are possibilities, but for a quiet and romantic moment, the beach is a great place to spend time with friends.

Dress Code: The attire is not important, however it would be wise to bring a jacket as it can become quite cool once the sun sets, even most nights during the summer.

The Wave House Bar & Grill: Beach Night Club

by lmkluque Updated May 28, 2012

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Canes is now The Wave House!

During the day Cane's is a fun restaurant and at night it turns into a popular nightclub. Live music presented by nationally known groups as well as local bands.

This is a photo taken of Cane's neon sign after a Hurricane!

What's that you say? No hurricanes in San Diego? Oh yes. Well, I mean after one of Cane's fabulous Hurricane Drinks!

    Update:

Canes has closed and The Wave House is in it's place. The Wave House is a whole complex which includes a couple of Wave rides, North Shore Cafe, open early for breakfast, The Patio Grill, a place to be in the sun while enjoying drinks/meal and The Bar & Grill. This turns into a night club at night, sometimes it's a DJ, sometimes a live band. Check their Events Calendar to see what's going on during your visit.

Be sure to bring a designated driver or plan to use public transportation!

    Cheers!

Dress Code: No one is allowed in without shoes and a shirt, other than that wear what you like. Of course, as with most places, the better you dress the more attention you'll recieve.

    Update:

The above statement was written for Cane's. I'm not sure that the Wave House has such limitations. Especially considering that the wave machines are working up until midnight. However, I would still suggest wearing shoes and at least have a shirt with you just to be sure. Of course you realize that the subject of shirt/no shirt is referring to men. Woment muct have a shirt or bathing suit top on.
