Billboards are for most advertising. Some cities use a monument sign to let those driving through know about their area. The Mojave Chamber of Commerce came up with the best way to advertise their town with a railroad caboose car. Why not? Mojave gets a lot of railroad activity and was even the drop off for the Borax 20 mule team wagons out of Death Valley. This unique signage is found next to the parking lot of Mike's Roadhouse Cafe.
The local yahoo's don't have much to do for entertainment so they make do and shoot up STOP signs like this...
