A local tourist favorite in Monterey, Bullwacker's is a better than average stop if you are on Cannery Row. After 2 weeks of driving and eating out about 20 times while driving across the country, the service here was probably the best of our entire journey, thanks to our waitress Alexsandra (who has since moved on to one of the other local bars...most recently at Bulldog). The food, too, was outstanding and relatively inexpensive. We had the rainbow trout special ($14) which included mixed veggies and a choice of potatoes or rice. With our meal we had a pint of the local Triple B beer ($5) and for desert dad had the blueberry cobbler ($6) and coffee ($2.25).

The restaurant is dark but comfortable inside with a fishing and boating motif. In the center of the dining room near the entrance is a fireplace with gas logs, and the back corner has a small bar with about 15 draft beers.

Probably the best thing about Bullwackers is its nightlife: they have a large outdoor patio with numerous fire pits and live bands two or three nights a week.

This is a English style pub and restaurant.
They have a fireplace in the middle of the pub and an outdoor patio to sit at if it is nice weather. I had a Ceasarsallad here. A minus for that they don't have any refills.

Owner is aware that his employees are using customer credit cards to bill customers for multiple meals off of different tickets. If anyone else has an issue they should contact the owner by calling (831)-277-3369

Employees by the name of James and Rawan have both placed fraudulent charges on my bank card. Owners response was i never had a james work for me.

To bad the restaurant faxed copies of the receipt that clearly show 2 different signatures at 2 different times with 2 different servers. Owner is unwilling to fix the issue

I ordered the steak sandwich and was very disappointed. The steak had absolutely no taste. It didn't taste at all like steak. The carmelized onions on the sandwich were too sweet. I took three bites of the sandwich and that was it. Our kids ordered the hamburger and grilled cheese sandwich. My husband ordered the hamburger. He didn't rave or complain about it. He also ordered the berry cobbler which was fine.

We were really hungry and Bullwhacker's seemed low key. The food was not terrible, but it was definately a "tourist trap". I had a shrimp wrap and she had a steak. Neither were memorable, and we probably could have done better for a bill that came to $50 for food and 2 beers. We did like the gas fireplace in the middle of the dining room, it came in handy on a chilly night.

The service was the worse ever. We went for a birthday and were completely ignored by staff. I have tried it three other times since, and sorry to say, the service never got better. Even with complaints to the manager, food was cold, birthday treats forgotten or arrived melted, kept waiting for check for an hour! NOT GOOD
