    Fruit, Flowers, Veggies...The Farmers' Market!

Every Tuesday from 4pm to 7pm (8pm in the summer months) you can check out the Old Monterey Farmers Market on Alvarado St in downtown Monterey. Local farmers bring plenty of produce to choose from and fresh flowers abound. Artists and other vendors set up their goods at the far ends of the street market and visitors can browse stands filled with jewelry, clothing and works by Monterey's art community.

When you're done checking out all the wares, stop by a local restaurant's booth where hungry shoppers are offered everything from BBQ to Indian to Sushi.

In case one market wasn't enough, Thursdays at Monterey Peninsula College offer choice #2. The Monterey Bay Certified Farmers Market is smaller than the one downtown and mainly consists of produce and flower vendors. It offers great sections of fruits and veggies. This market runs Thursdays from 2:30 pm to 6 pm.
