Spending some time in Morro Bay and want something different to do? Maybe, you already know about doing it. So, give it a go and go paddle a kayak at KAYAK HORIZONS in the Embarcadero area. They have been around long enough to know what you need as to the equipment and degree of experience from beginner to advanced that may require a short lesson in how to paddle, free of charge. They have the kayak that fits your needs. Prices may vary, but a basic single is $9 per hour and a basic double is $12 per hour. Half day rentals get a great break in price.
Equipment: All gear and equipment is provided by Kayak Horizons as well as a safety talk.
If you stay at the Inn at Morro Bay, use of the bicycles is part of the package. There are many bicyclists taking in the sights of the area and the embarcadero is only a mile away.
Equipment: Bicycle rentals are also available downtown Morro Bay.
Whilst Morro Bay itself is situated on the sheltered harbour side of the rock it is only a short walk to the other half of the bay and its open sea. This seems to be where the surfers do their stuff and even on a calm day get some decent looking waves.
Equipment: If you haven't got your own gear there are hire shops at this end of the Embarcadero as well as in the town itself.
Surfing is better in the Los Angeles-region as here the waves are not reaching so high (seaweet-fields) and the water is positioned straight into the cold current from the North. Still, some obviusly hot guys show their abilities with the help of a swimmingsuite.
