The Pelican Inn: Old English Fare!
This inn is set in the beautiful sculpted hills of the San Francisco Bay Area. It was built from the actual plans of a 16th century English pub, and it certainly has the feel of it. It's a wonderful place to stop for a meal or a snack, before or after a hike.
Favorite Dish: For a meal, the menu is hearty. Choose from Beef Wellington, Roasted Wild King Salmon, Spicy Vegetable Curry Pot etc. The good old Ploughman's lunch is always good, and for a nice casual meal, there are Fish & Chips, Bangers & Mash, and Shepard's Pie. I have had the Roasted Half Chicken Lemon, Thyme & Garlic with Spinach & Smashed Potatoes, and I can highly recommend it.
Just want a snack? The smaller sitting room in the front of the inn is incredibly pleasant and cozy. Order the cheese plate for $7.95. It has Stilton, a white cheddar cheese, chutney, apples, and crackers. Enjoy with a good beer, or as I did, with a tasty cider.Related to:
