Well, it is very well a possibility that the Napa city officials took their cue from the good old classic movie, Footloose, and modeled this Valley after it. There is virtually NO dancing allowed, as none of the bars are allowed to obtain Cabaret licensing. There are a few exceptions and restauranteurs that happen to be in good standing with someone important, and so get away with a little bit of dancing, for a song or two that is. I particularly enjoy seeing people dancing beneath the NO DANCING ORDINANCE signs. What a drag.
I can recommend, that if you want to do something, you can check out Trancas Steak House for karaoke on Wednesday and Friday nights, the Red Hen Cantina on Thursdays and Saturday nights and the Green Door for the best, late night, last bar stop. Thursday nights at Bilco's is usually crowded and they say UVA collects a decent bar crowd around happy hour. Sadly, there just is not much to do around town, but I will say that this town does know how to party for not having many options! Happy (no) dancing!
There are a few places to visit in Napa Valley to enjoy the nightlife, but for us, the best nightlife is to light a fire, grab a newly found bottle of wine, put on some nice music and just relax and chat about the day and the day ahead.
One word sums up the nightlife in Napa....NONE. They roll up the streets and everyone goes home when the restaurants close.
There is a little theatre but it lacks regularly scheduled events.
Maybe the city planners thought everyone would have had so much wine through the day they would all be sleeping it off by the time the evening rolled around!

Nightlife? No nightlife... for us. Boring huh?
Well, if you want to catch the sun rise in the early hours of dawn, go to bed early at night!
Not much nightlife to speak of. Your meals can be a 4 hour affair if you let it.
Class and elegance.
