Favorite thing: Hannover, 23rd of March: I just received very bad news from my friend Lotte who told me that there was a fire in downtown Nevada City. The old theatre and two other store were lost to the fire. I hope they rebuild everything soon, so the old scenery will be visible again!!!
You should walk around and view the wonderful shops. There are many historic sites, dating from the gold rush days. Its a beautiful little town, surrounded by the beautifully forested Tahoe National Forest. Autumn is lovely here too. The people in Nevada City are friendly, love to party, and love their parades.
Fondest memory: Whenever I leave I miss the forest.
Favorite thing: Firehouse No. 2 was built in 1861. This brick structure is located near the top of Broad Street. Firehouse No. 2 housed one of Nevada City's first volunteer fire companies.
Favorite thing: The architecture of Nevada City is enjoyable. A great variety of architecture can be seen by just walking around the old downtown and nearby neighborhoods. Some beautiful Victorians can be observed.
Fondest memory: Was here for a wedding. I think weddings are great, so long as it's somebody elses wedding, and not me!
