Rusty Pelican: Rusty Pelican
Yummy seafood with a great view of the harbor! Always great service and the fact that it is on the water always gives this place a few extra points, besides their food! :)
Favorite Dish: Any of their seafood is delicious! Their seafood is always prepared in various ways that appeal to most palates. They don't stick to any one cultural style. They will use anything from cajun spices to light Mediterrean cream sauces to Asian sticky rice for their dishes. Tasty!! :)
Rainforest Cafe: Not Quite Dinner in the Amazon, But Close
Dine in a jungle, brimming with lush, green trees and blue waterfalls. Share your meal with a gorilla or watch giant butterflies flutter while you drink your mai tai. Suddenly lightening and thunder burst out and you feel a gentle mist envelop you. OK, so it's not quite like that, but you'll still have a damn good time at the jungle themed Rainforest Cafe.
Favorite Dish: I love the Volcano, a chocolate, vanilla, and caramel dessert that could easily feed four. The Awesome Appetizer Platter is great to share as well because it features lots of different bitesized snacks like spicy shrimp and avocado egg rolls, spinich-garlic cheese spread with blue corn chips, ginger chicken taquitos and more.
cann't remember the name, it's...
cann't remember the name, it's a little Italian cafe on north side of Newport Blvd, several blocks from the ferry entrance, you won't miss the only store front (next to a coffee shop) with red white and green painted front columns.
It's the best cheap and good restaurant in the area, with great soup, pasta and pizza, used to be a plain old style eat-in/take-out place, now new owner made it a pleasant cheerful place to have a nice sit-down meal with extremely friendly services.
I'll go again and get more info later.
Rusty Pelican -: Rusty Pelican -
the striking architecture designed rustic exterior, natural feel throught out, fresh seafood prepared in their unique and innovative ways plus the great view of the beautiful Lido Bay from your table. Everyone who asked me where to take their guests in Newport Beach and tried all loved Rusty Pelican and kept going back.
This pics from their web.
Favorite Dish: Fried calamari steak, the thick pieces are tender and juicy lightly coated and fried just right, with their delicious special honey mustard sauce, I only wish other chef's can copy and improve their fried Calamari dishes.
The Newport Brewery is one of...
The Newport Brewery is one of my favorite places to eat and hang out. They have the finest beer brewed on the premises. Take that coupled with good food, excellent service and people watching and you got an evening of enjoyment.
This place is considered a good hot spot for Newport. The people are friendly and always looking their best. It's a relaxed atmosphere where you can still talk to the girl or guy next to you and have fun.
Favorite Dish: I'm a big fan of the wood brick oven pizzas, Garlic Ranch Pizza being my absolute favorite. I've also heard that their Pasta Caliente is remarkable. I'm not a shell fish eater so I'll take their word on it. Did I mention the beer is great?
Harborside: Nice Harbor view
Serves a good American food, including steak and seafood. It has a nice ambiance, for harborside dining, watching sea lions and birds at play.
Favorite Dish: For lunch the California Cobb salad
