    Ruby's Diner

    by freezer61 Updated Jan 11, 2006

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

This bright re-creation of a 1940s-style diner offers cheerful red and white decor; seating space is available at the counter and booths. The atmosphere is casual and family-friendly. The food is inexpensive, with dinner specialties such as country fried steak, pot roast and even Alaskan halibut. The Rubyburgers are popular hamburgers; they are served with various toppings. Leave room for a huge candy-bar flavored milk shake or a banana-pecan sundae....
    try the chilli.

  • Mykonos Greek Cafe: So-so

by jgrathwol Updated Dec 27, 2004

Family owned atmosphere. Our waiter, an elderly gentleman, was sweet, but kind of deaf. He got me and my friend's orders wrong. She got a meat lasagne looking dish, even after she said at least 2x that she was vegetarian. she asked for the vegetarian, but said it was too eggy.
i got the gyro platter w/out onions. came with onions. after i picked the onions off, it was delish.
we split a spinach pie, which was delcious.

    Favorite Dish: see above

The Deck: I never ran into a bad one!.....

    by mumzzy4u Updated Oct 14, 2004

Ahhh...Palm Springs. Anyone who's anyone has been to PS and, needless to say, there is something about this city...something so rich and sexy. Just a speck in the California Desert; for some reason, all my doubts about another hot spot in CA vanished as I spent one GLORIOUS weekend there. Who wants to go to a desert? Someone who yearns for a quick getaway and does NOT want to be disappointed. PS is definitevely the way to go. The Deck was the icing on the cake...Romantic and sexual atmosphere with an impeccable menu to say the least. While rolling the best seafood dishes around your tongue, the best local jazz band plays live around you, leaving you breathless and wanting more of both...everything about PS is indescribable...and this is just my first addition to VirtualTourist...I have so many more!!! Here's to your local getaway....

The Falls Prime Steakhouse and Martini Bar: Photo of wine room but martini's here are better

by JimTammy Updated May 8, 2004

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Dining becomes entertainment. Tableside ceasar salad, steak Dianne or bananas foster preparation and prime rib carving keeps focus on the food. The balcony seating allows outdoor street views. The lighting, the art and ambiance are all part and parcel of an enjoyable evening.

Favorite Dish: Applewood smoked pime rib. The smoky flavor is a natural complement to all the beef. With a favorite beefy red wine from the cellar of course.

Davey's Hideaway: Elegant American food - yes there is such a thing!

by JimTammy Written May 8, 2004

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Davey's Hideaway is wonderful example of good American cooking. Steak, prime rib, pork roast, and fish or seafood prepared to perfection. The meals include choice of salads, rice, potatos or pasta. Not ala carte!
The servers and staff are friendly knowledgeable and fast. They actually work as a team so anyone passing by will assist your needs. (if your server hasn't already).
Very busy local eatery, I suggest reservations.

Favorite Dish: I have to admit I have the scallops probably every other visit. They are large, tender and perfectly moist. A full 11 oz. serving can be ordered with the chefs suace of the day or my favorite white wine and lemon beurre blanc. Start with the lettuce wedge and blue cheese dressing, (you won't be disappointed), a side of pasta and the fresh vegetable of the day. I prefer a nice Pinot Grigio to complement it all. Enjoy! and tell Bob (owner / Matre D') Tammy sent you!

    Thai House: Thai Food

by awayhome Updated Apr 14, 2004

    4.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

For me Thai food is the best food. Maybe it's because I was born in Thailand. I was surprised to see many Thai restaurants in Palm Springs. You can find Thai food almost everywhere in America.....and now you know that you can even find it here along Palm Canyon Drive.

    Colibri Grille: Colibri Grille

by bruingirl Updated Jul 14, 2003

A fusion of Mexican and Spanish dishes gives this place its flair. The chips are served with both traditional salsa and a fruit salsa comprised of mango, watermelon, and other tropical fruits. They have everything from paella to traditional Mexican dishes like fajitas and enchiladas. Their margaritas come in glasses that are as big as your head!

Favorite Dish: Their chicken fajitas were good, as were the tri-tip (which I don't eat, but was informed about) and enchiladas. Everything was delicious!

Very much like Benihana's. The chefs will put on a show for you as they chop, slice, grill, sautee anything that you want. You can also order off of their sushi menu.

Favorite Dish: Everything is good from the teriyaki chicken to fried rice to their sushi.

Rick's Restaurant & Bakery: For Breakfast & Lunch Only......

by annk Updated Jan 12, 2003

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

This restaurant is not in the main shopping district but was always packed with customers so we figured it must be "good". Nothing fancy, just a coffeeshop atmosphere.

Favorite Dish: Excellent homemade biscuits and gravy! Homemade cinnamon raisin toast.

Thai Kitchen II: Good food, good prices

by annk Updated Jan 12, 2003

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

We stopped here for lunch and was very pleased with the quality and low prices. The restaurant is certainly not fancy although Thai decor was displayed around the restaurant. They even had a corner where Thai gifts, mostly clothing could be purchased.

Favorite Dish: Kung Pao Chicken - Very good, spicy and included white rice, cup of hot and sour soup. Price $4.95 which seemed like an excellent value for good food and generous portions.

Cold Stone Creamery: The perfect ice cream dessert

by spartan Updated Jan 8, 2003

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

The Cold Stone Creamery is the direct result of two ice cream lovers' crusade for the perfect ice cream dessert. This concept features super premium ice cream and yogurt made fresh every day (with a range of mix-ins custom blended to order on an ice-cold stone).

Favorite Dish: I can't remember the correct name off the top of my head but it included french vanilla ice cream, caramel, walnuts and fudge.

California Pizza Kitchen: Innovative pizzas with many different tastes

by spartan Updated Jan 8, 2003

    0.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

    Hearth-baked pizzas

Favorite Dish: Many options to choose from, but I would recommend the Original Chopped Salad (chopped lettuce, basil, salami, chilled roast turkey breast, diced tomatoes, chopped garbanzos and cheese tossed in a herb-mustard Parmesan vinaigrette topped with scallions), the Sweet & Spicy Italian Sausage Pizza (a combination of sweet italian sausage and grilled spicy Italian sausage with thier own tomato sauce, roasted red & yellow peppers, mild onions and mozzarella cheese) or the Jamaican Jerk Chicken Pizza (grilled jamaican jerk spiced chicken breast with spicy sweet caribbean sauce, mozzarella cheese, Nueske's applewood smoked bacon, mild onions, roasted red & yellow peppers and scallions). Wash it down with a nice cold brew like Sierra Nevada...OMG it is so good, full of body but no aftertaste.

Good prices, not the cleanest place I have ever been to but the service is friendly and good and the food is great. We sat out on the patio and they allowed us to have our dog out there.....

Favorite Dish: Tuna Wrap for lunch but they have GREAT Breakfasts.
