Things to Do

Pigeon Point Lighthouse

Pigeon Point Lighthouse, Pescadero

sue_stone Says:  If you are driving down Highway One south from San Francisco then make sure you stop off at the Pigeon Point Lighthouse. Follow the signs to the lighthouse and hostel. The area was pretty deserted when we visited, though I understand it gets pretty crowded at the weekends as...

Visit The State Beach

Visit The State Beach, Pescadero

cwest03 Says:  If you've come this far you're going to want to visit the beach. Pescadero beach is a great beach for a picnic with someone special or with friends and family. When it gets hot in the bay area people head to beaches like Pescadero with their food, drinks, frisbees and beach...

Duarte's Tavern: I'll Ride 82 Miles for Duarte's Artichoke Soup, Pescadero

marthacook Says:  Whenever I've been to Duarte's, there has been a crowd outside waiting to get in for the legendary local cuisine. But here's the thing: on the weekends, these are largely tours, so they are waiting for tables for 4, 6, 8 or more. I, the very savvy traveller, have come alone,...

Taqueria de Amigos: Taqueria de Amigos - tasty burritos

Taqueria de Amigos: Taqueria de Amigos - tasty burritos, Pescadero

sue_stone Says:  Taqueria de Amigos is a small Mexican take away located in a gas station shop. You will find it in the small town of Pescadero, a short detour off Highway 1 (3 miles East). We stopped in for some lunch on our way down the coast from San Francisco to Carmel. It looked a bit...

Duarte's Tavern: Get the Specialization, not the Special!

Duarte's Tavern: Get the Specialization, not the Special!, Pescadero

Lornabug Says:  Whether you're heading up Hwy 1 for a coastal day trip or camping up the road at Memorial Park like we were and only wanted to pack breakfast and beer, this is been the historic place to stop in for dinner since 1894. After a short wait with tourists, the local fire...

Arcangeli Grocery (aka Norm's Market): Eat At The Beach

Arcangeli Grocery (aka Norm's Market): Eat At The Beach, Pescadero

cwest03 Says:  If you've come all the way to Pesadero and have forgotten to bring along something to eat have no fear. Infact, forgetting to bring something to eat to Pescadero is the thing to do. Before you head to the beach make way into town and visit Norm's Market where you'll find...

Duartes Tavern: Duartes Tavern

Duartes Tavern: Duartes Tavern, Pescadero

AngelElectra Says:  Duartes is so wonderful because they maintain a quality of home cooked taste. Duartes is guarenteed to leave you full when you walk out! The Artichoke Raviolis, 1/2&1/2 Soup, and the Chocolate Mousse Pie!

Nightlife

Nightlife?

Nightlife?, Pescadero

cwest03 Says:  I'm not sure if there is nightlife in Pescadero. You'd have to ask a local to find out about that. Unless you want to take a night stroll on the beach I would suggest heading to La Honda for a beer at Applejacks. You could also head north to Half Moon Bay or south (the...

San Francisco: San Francisco

San Francisco: San Francisco, Pescadero

AngelElectra Says:  Its a city, I know its not in Pescadero, but its nice to drive to the city for fun, and then return to Pescadero, where you feel safe! Any

Favorite thing: Visit all the shops on Main Street! Made in Pescadero was started by my best friend's dad Ken Periat. He grew up in Pescadero and started his own furnature store. We also have a wonderful bakery at Norms Market, and great food at Duartes!

Fondest memory: The appeal of going home to a place where everyone knows you when you go to 'town'. I love being able to walk in Duartes and be greeted by all my aunties!
