This photo shows a good reason for wearing long pants and sleeves when hiking the trails. This section of the Coast Trail had us walking through shoulder height thistles and various other weeds. In order to keep from bleeding profusely about our arms, we held our hands high. Beautiful though, yes?

Walking along the Coast Trail, we crossed several picturesque bridges. During the Spring, the creeks below were still running strong, and covered with lush foliage. Absolutely beautiful and cooling. A must stop for a meditation moment type of spot.

On Memorial Day morning, we went for a day hike from our camp, South on the Coast Trail, towards Arch Rock. We knew we wouldn't have time to get all the way to Arch Rock before turning around, but we decided to hike for an hour and a half, have some lunch and then turn around. Beautiful scenery!

For this trip, Yubert and I were backpacking (you knew that already though - I repeat myself). Here's Yubert on Memorial Day, after we've packed up camp and are readying to head out on the Coast Trail, back to the Hostel, and my car.

One more mile 'til the end of the trail and we're on our way back home. Loved how the sunlight dappled the path at this point. Cool breezes blew through the marsh to our left.

What a difference a day makes! Here is the eucalyptus tree at Coast Camp, the day after we hiked in. This time bathed in sunlight and blue skies.

On our first day of back packing, as we near Coast Camp. The giant eucalyptus tree in the distance was our destination.
