A veteran, President Ford served honorably in the U.S. Navy during WWII, rising to the rank of Lieutenant Commander. In 1974, he became the 38th President of the United States, serving from 1974 -1977 and leading our country during a tumultuous time in its history, when Americans were faced with distrust in the government, economic uncertainty and the Vietnam War.

Sometimes I like to seek out the city halls of communities. They are often very historical or their Architecture is stunning. This building caught my eye and plus it provided some very safe parking to visit the Big Horn Trail, Cancer Memorial and the stunning Ritz Carlton fountain/falls. At night it is very lovely some very selective lighting features.

This beautiful structure caught my eye as we ventures along Hwy 111 in Rancho Mirage. The architecture is stunning and the walkways are lined with beautiful desert fauna and glorious bronze sculptures that have been dedicated to families members who passed away by various sponsors. Just behind the library is this huge field of green grass. I am sure the children just love running through this area. The library offers venue talks by renowned authors, musical performances by internationally acclaimed musicians, lectures by regional artists and exhibitions by nationally recognized artists and illustrators.

This is the The Mirada Fountain-Entry to The Ritz-Carlton in Rancho Mirage. To see this beautiful fountain, park over in the City Hall area. Just be careful because it is next to a steep road that is the exit and entrance to residence and the hotel up the road.

If you are looking for a slightly more adult form of entertainment; try the Agua Caliente Casino. Like most casinos it has gambling, concerts and shows, and good food. The casino also has a nice motel/resort.
