I love sushi but the other dishes are so good that I have not eaten much sushi here. The view is of the pier and ocean which is spectacular at sunset and the service is excellent.
Favorite Dish: Seaweed salad
Summer Rolls- light Vietnamese spring rolls
with a choice of fillers
The seafood souffle called dynamite, sounds corny but it is a very rich and uniquely satisfying dish.
The scallop entre is also delicious

Interesting spot- the locals hang out on the outdoor patio to play chess and drink their favorite coffee or tea or hang inside lounging about the comfy couches reading a book from the library or chatting. To add to all this atmosphere they sell darn good food.
Favorite Dish: The cobb salad is unlike any other with chunks of chicken, caramelized walnuts, apple slices and a honey based dressing- YUMM!
The cold curry sandwich is also a favorite.

The atmosphere is "so" so cal with all walks of life and usually their pets socializing in front of this Manhattan beach favorite breakfast / brunch spot. Plan to wait a few hours on the week- ends but the variety of pancakes, waffles, and omelets as well as the atmosphere make it well worth it.
• Outdoor dining
• pet-friendly
• Beach casual
Favorite Dish: blueberry pancakes
cheddar bacon waffle
light and fluffy omelets

As you enter the pier, you'll see a little lighthouse reaching for the sky - that's old Tony's. A Redondo Beach mainstay - I remember old Tony's from 38 years ago and it is so nice to see it still here.
Favorite Dish: Lobster

Yummy!! I went there for breakfast the other day and had a great experience! The food was good, the service was attentive (although it was very busy) and the restaurant has a cool vibe--not diner-like but not mom and pop dive restaurant, somewhere in the middle. Very beachy, surfer-like joint.
Favorite Dish: buckwheat pancakes! Yummers!

Naka is the chef at the local Naka sushi. It's a small restaurant with very fresh fish. If you go, I usually find it's best to sit at the bar and order as you go. Naka is a very entertaining chef!
Favorite Dish: Hamachi (yellowtail) and spicy tuna roll. The salmon is very good too, as is the Dynamite.

Good Stuff is a great place to go for breakfast - sit on the patio and people watch. It's located next to the Coffee Bean, so if you have to wait you can grab a nice coffee. Their food is consistently good, and the wait staff are quick. Plus they automatically provide salsa and Tabasco on the table which I like!
Favorite Dish: Chicken Chile Verde Breakfast Burrito- a large burrito stuffed with brown rice, eggs and Chicken in a verde sauce. Also the California omelette and the Greek omelette are quite good!
Lunch and dinner are good too. Red Hook on tap.

Riviera is a very inexpensive Cali/Mexican restaurant. Nice patio, surf videos on the TV, many interesting decorations including long boards, surf photos, etc.
Favorite Dish: Chicken Enchiladas with Mole sauce. I miss these since leaving Redondo! Also they have great Margaritas, and also good Sangria!

Seafood restaurants always seem to look and feel better when they are located by water. The Pacific Ocean and the Redondo Beach Seaside Lagoon has one of the best seafood restaurants located on Portofino Way across from the Port Royal Marina, ocean side of Harbor Drive. Joe's Crab Shack is the name and seafood is the game. Well, actually it's not game but fish that makes Joe's so appealing. Entering their parking lot and you can see that this is going to be something special. Just the shape of the shack and the colors used bring one a fun time experience is about to commence.
Inside the doors, and you enter a natical world of Joe's Crab Shack with a huge but fake shark taking a bite out of a surf board right over your head. A seaside bar area for that special drink that can be made for you. Funny sayings and doors with "Dudes" and "Babes" inviting you into the restrooms. The tables inside are simple and sturdy with the natical theme but outside, and most days are great days to be outside, the tables and umbrellas are set up along the bay side of the ocean for a spectacular view. The menu is filled with buckets of this and buckets of that and wonderful seafood dishes. The bar drinks are superb and the beer flows. A day in Redondo made relaxing and fulfilling with either lunch or dinner at the Shack.
Favorite Dish: I love mussels and my wife found out about mussels in Italy, so now I would say we both love mussels. Joe's Crab Shack is known for crab and the different types are brought out in buckets put on the table and then a shell trash bucket is placed in the center hole of the table for all to share the discarding of shells, napkins, peel shrimp, etc. Mussels Diablo was on the menu and that did it. It was so good and the pico de gallo salsa (chopped tomatoes, onion and jalapeno with a lime juice and cilantro finish) that was mixed in over the mussels was picante (hot) but oh, so tasty, that we ordered another large plate. Also a very rich dish called Crab Nachos which was a large plate of tortilla chips loaded with crab dip, that pico de gallo salsa (yum), cheese and black bean corn relish. Add a couple of "Mason Jar" Margaritas (1800 Silver TEQUILA, Gran Gala, sweet &sour and squeezed limes all mixed together in aclassic mason jar.) and you have one heck of a lunch.

This is an eat as much as you like buffet restaurant with a slight difference. Salads and vegetables are served buffet style whilst on your table is a cylindrical piece of wood with red and green ends; have the red end to the top and you are not ready to be served meats - reverse it and it shows that you want to be served meats. Meats are brought out from the kitchen on great metal stakes and carved at your table.
Go up to the buffet area as many times as you like for salads and vegetables and some stew-style meat dishes; you can then have your green end up as many times as you like.
I had the Churrasco Feast. It was a quiet evening and service from the kitchen was slow but dishes on offer at the buffet were very good and plentiful.
Favorite Dish: I enjoyed all that I chose to eat and enjoyed a glass of house red to go with my meal.
