Favorite thing: Richardson Grove State Park is one of a number of state parks in Northern California that helps preserve the beauty of the massive redwood trees for all to enjoy. It is located along US Highway 101 not far from the coast and south of Eureka. Richardson Grove was established in 1922 and named after Friend W. Richardson, the 25th governor of California. The camp offers camping, hiking and swimming, and just driving through the park along the highway is relaxing.

Fondest memory: Driving through the park on the highway just after sunrise. The sunlight was filtering through the trees and I was alone on the road. Spectacularly, beautiful moment.
