You can spend an entire day on Lake Natoma .. exploring the lake and sloughs in a kayak or canoe, windsurfing, swimming, relaxing on the beach, having a picnic .. Of course, half of these go better with sunny, warm weather. :-) Good thing you're in central CA! Plus, if you've pets .. they can join you here.
Kayaks and canoes can be rented from the CSUS Aquatic Center - as well as windsurfing equipment and these fun bikes that pedal on water (paddlebikes? You'll look comical, but it's fun!). Leave a Comment Theme: Kayaking/CanoeingAddress: 1901 Hazel Avenue, Rancho Cordova, CADirections: Exit on Hazel Ave (turn Left if heading E on 50, Right if heading W) and you'll see the entrance. The first entrance goes into the park (pay park entrance fee, or park outside), the second entrance goes to the Aquatic Center.

If you visit Sacramento in the Spring/Summer and have a free evening try catching our AAA Baseball team in action. The ballpark is located just across the Sacramento River off Capitol Avenue in West Sacramento. The prices are reasonable (but food expensive) and you will enjoy an evening out watching the two time champions. Take a sweater or coat because even on the hottest days the ballpark gets a healthy breeze in the evenings and it can get COLD sitting there after the sun goes down. On Saturday nights there is a fabulous fireworks show...not to be missed. Leave a Comment

The Arco Arena is the home of the NBA's Sacramento Kings. It is definitely an experience watching a Kings home game. The Kings easily have the NBA's loudest and most rabid fans. If planning on taking in a Kings game, be sure to plan well ahead of time. Tickets are extremely hard to get due to the quick sellouts. Arco Arena is also home to the WNBA's Sacramento Monarchs. The Sacramento Rivercats are in the Pacific Coast League. They are the AAA affiliate of Major League Baseballs the Oakland Athletics. Going into the 2004 season, they are the league champions. The season begins in early April and goes through early to mid-September. Raley Field is a gem of a minor league baseball field, and a must see for any baseball fanatic. Arco Arena Stadium by Jeannette1 ARCO Arena is the top venue for sports, entertainment and special events in the Greater Sacramento area. It seats 17,317 people and has many events throughout the year. If you like basketball, you can attend a game at Arco Arena. The Sacramento Kings are a pretty good basketbal team and it's an exciting game to watch. The fans at Arco Arena are very loyal. The games are often sold out and the atmosphere is exciting but very, very noisy. Get your tickets ahead of time or on line if you are willing to pay more. I recommend www.craigslist.com to buy tickets from private parties. Leave a Comment
