While checking out Samoa take a look at the Coastguard Station...It is housed in a very nice older style 'building' that has been there for over 40 years. If it weren't for the high metal fences you would think it were someones beach house.

Walk the North Jetty! It is a great walk! But beware of the large waves the can creep over the sides! REALLY...you can be swept over!
Great wildlife and dunes to be viewed!

Very comfortable setting, and you can get however many seconds (or thirds, or fourths...) you like. However, you have to eat whatever they have, which is actually a good thing, since you don't have to go to the trouble of ordering and that they always serve delicious food.

Favorite Dish: Only time I've been there, it was a bunch of courses, one including the main dish, the Red Snapper.

The Samoa Cookhouse has been in existence for more than 100 years, serving meals to hungry lumberjacks and tourists alike. Meals are served 'lumber camp' style. This won't make much sense until you've actually been there, but Samoa Cookhouse is the most fun dining experience I've had in years!

Favorite Dish: The menu is fixed, so you don't have much choice, but for a very reasonable price you get all you can eat!

If your current health insurance doesn't cover you while your abroad, you should consider getting international travel insurance just in case something should go wrong.

The ocean looks pretty inviting and this area gets a lot of surfers, but do be careful as there is a pretty terrific undertow in this area. If you look closely at this picture you will be able to see the mill in the backgrund and then beyond that Eureka sits right on the coast.

    Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Camping

Miscellaneous: Always bring a hat and wind breaker...it may seem sunny and nice a few miles away...but once you are on the beach or at the jetty you will really be blown!

Favorite thing: Yep, its just a seagull and I didn't get his name but it is amazing how tame these guys are..We were able to walk right up to him..I am sure he was waiting for a handout, though I think they are kept pretty fat and happy on there usual meal of the local catch of the day.

Favorite thing: We love to just come out for exercise and walk the jetty! It feels great to get that fine ocean mist on your face and breath that wonderful ocean air!

Fondest memory: My daughter loves to be outside...here she is enjoying the day!

Favorite thing: We love to go out to Samoa to fly kites! The best spot is right across from the pulp mill! No one is ever here...a totally empty beach 99 days out of a 100!
