Don't drink the water!
What ever you do DO NOT drink the water. Sadly, the San Bernardino National Forest reports that there is actually fecal coliform counts & a rare and sometimes fatal disease called primary amoebic meningoencephalitis that are sometimes found in the water! The disease is apparently contained in contaminated soil and transmitted to the Hot Springs pools as the warm water flows through and over the soil. It's advisable not to submerse your head. For more info see:
This sounds really scary, but if you follow the San Bernardino Forest's Advice you'll be ok and can still enjoy the springs. We did!

Highland Avenue & BaseLine
Anyone wanting to visit san bernardino.just be advised that these 2 streets are somewhat ok during the day but avoid walking on these streets at night. there are very shady characters on these streets.
Roaming around this town can only get you in trouble. In my opinion this is one of the worst cities in Southern California. It is usually very hot and smoggy in the summer. There is lots of crime in this city with little of interest to see and do. There are big gang problems here.
