We ate here and it was absolutely delightful. The service was good and the food very tasty. We had the Fish and Chips served with steak fries, Cole slaw and sourdought bread. We really enjoyed our view of the ocean and especially the pier.

Great ocean front dining, good food and drinks. Located on the historic San Clemente Pier. The glassed-in decks over the breaking white water are awesome especially on abeautiful summer day.
Favorite Dish: Love the swordfish - what you see on the photo. Their "trestle" cocktail is really good. Try it.

Here's an above decent seafood eaterie to take friends or a date. Get a patio table to take in the gorgeous ocean view.
The Fisherman, recommeded by VT's own Cnango, is a local fave and good place for a tourist for dining, serving up Northwestern style seafood. Favorities here are clam clowder, salmon , oysters and steak.
One can be satisfied here foodwise in the pockets. Most meals are $20 and under, including most lunch items under $10. I ordered salmon and chips(pictured below) for about $9 and got plenty full.
There is a restaurant and bar at Fishermans along the pier. Expect a family and surfer crowd for lunch and dinner. No need to make reservations here, but expect some waiting at oeak times.
Good times and food here at Fisherman with good VT company, Vladimir, Olivia, Shella and Vladimir.
Favorite Dish: clam chowder- even good on a hot day. It is flavorful and not too salty or filled with potato

The restaurant is low key, casual. There are lots of tables outside. Chairs at the outdoor tables are white plastic, garden variety. There are clear wind barriers that make sitting outdoors enjoyable on windier days. This place is very comfortable and casual. The wait staff is very friendly. The menu offers a variety of dishes in a nice range of prices.
You cannot beat the location! It is good food at a great spot for no more $ than at other lesser seafood restaurants.
Favorite Dish: My favorite meal here was delicious lobster with a tasty bloody mary. I've also enjoyed their clam chowder in a bread bowl on cooler days.

If you're ever passing through San Clemente there's a little hole-in-the-wall place you should definitely check out.
They serve an assortment of pastas, salads, and sandwiches made from the freshest ingredients and all at reasonable prices.
There are a few tables to eat there but most people seem to opt for take-out.

Pedro's is a local taco stand that offers very good fish tacos and other mexican food treats. It has a surf theme with a walk up window and a drive-through. The fish tacos are great, and I've been wanting to try the fried chicken burrito.
This is the place to go for good comfort food.
There are two locations in San Clemente, and one each in Fallbrook and Oceanside.
Favorite Dish: The Famous Fish Tacos (order two of them).

This is a picturesque spot to enjoy a cup of coffee or a morning bagel. The cafe is very low key, very casual. You stand in line to order. Sandwiches are served in a paper-lined plastic basket. The court yard and the interior lobby are very classic old California. Though the chairs in the courtyard are plastic, etc., the charm of the location is worth a visit.
Favorite Dish: I like the bagels and coffee. I was a little disappointed with the lunch sandwiches.

The food is pretty average, the service is usually pretty poor. But, this place is located right on the San Clemente pier and is one of the few restaurants in Orange County that sits on a pier. The views are great and you'll have to wait in line for a table on weekends - especially in the summer.
Favorite Dish: Go for a cocktail and the view.

There are many Mexican restaurants in San Clemente. Someone told me there were over 60 of them in a town of less than 60,000 people.
El Mariachi is the best I've had so far. More authentic than most with many menu items you'd see when in Mexico.
Favorite Dish: The hard shell tacos.
