Police / Law, San Diego
San Diegans love visitor's. They are always very nice and ready to help visitors.
At some places (downtown) it's not so easy to walk and look at the map at the same time - they just stop and ask, what are you looking for, could i help you? - sometimes they speak... in Spanish.
And local police (on bicycles) is always ready to help you as well.
You can easily read the name of a police officer on a small (but enough large not to use glasses = it's not email in VT) name tag just above right pocket of his shirt - enlarge my picture.
Hmm... in many countries I already visited (including my own homecountry) police officers have NO names, they have NUMBERS - usually very loooooong hehe. I wonder why?
Btw one police officer I met (close to LAX) was Mr Bilski (Polish surname) and he could speak "thank you" in Polish hehe. Whenever you meet him (he can catch you by a motorcycle) say him hello from matcrazy1, but I doubt whether it can help you when you get in troubles, OK? :-)))
Policemen in San Diego are very, very friendly for visitors in San Diego. In Gaslamp Quarter they ride bicycles and are always ready to help you even when you only wish to take them a picture for VT :-)).
