Me and Giampiero at the Padres game by Marisa79 Even though San Diego is warm and sunny, it's right on the water and can still get chilly. If you go to the baseball game, bring a blanket or warm clothes! It was a hot and sunny day here, but we were sitting in the shade and freezing because of the breeze. I might just be a big wimp, but I think other people in my group were cold too! Leave a Comment

Boy with Parents at Bay by LauraWest I recommend a lightweight nylon jacket for walks near the ocean at night unless it is Summer. You may need it during day, too, anytime but Summer. This small boy may have been over-dressed! Leave a Comment

Light jacket for evening wear - even in summer. It's very unlikely you'll need an umbrella or rain gear, though.
Sun screen.
Take beach wear, but include wrap.

by BR0WND0G Summer gear, most of the year. Even in summer, it can get cold in the evenings, so bring a sweatshirt. In winter, it's still moderate, but can be chilly. Leave a Comment

The weather is fantastic in that it doesn't really rain a whole lot, and it stays fairly moderate from day to night as well. Being on the ocean the humidity is definitely a change for me(but a pleasant one!) and I found I do generally need to layer for the evening, it's not cold, but a sweater or long sleeved shirt was good against the cool and moist air. Although everyday is sunny (like 340 days a year) I found the evening to be chilly 60 degrees F. I would recommend packing a jacket / sweatshirt Leave a Comment

Be sure to pack long sleeves or a light jacket even in the summer. The evenings get a little chilly even in July! Leave a Comment

Even though San Diego lies within 30 miles of the mexican border (33 rd paralell or so) it tends to have a cool climate even in the summer months. June can be the worst wth overcast skies and temps in the lower 60's F.... so have a light sweater with you anytime of the year. Leave a Comment

Make sure you bring a light jacket or cardigan sweater. It can get nippy in the afternoon to evening. Leave a Comment

You will always need some sort of wrap for the night. Always pack it with just in case. YOu will get cold; unless you are from Siberia.
Sunscreen - all SPF's
