Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant: More than Just a Beer Joint

This is one of my favorite restaurant in San Diego. I was eating here about 3 times a week for 3 months! I love the great service and the great food that is prepared here. Of course the main theme is the crafted beers that are brewed and served here. I happen to love the Marzen...a smooth, sweet reddish brown colored lager.

There is live music on Friday nights only in the patio to the south of the bar...its covered so if it should rain you will be okay!

Favorite Dish: I have eaten just about everything on the menu but I return again and again to the Goat Cheese Filled Ravioli. Just enough to fill me me night with feeling bloated. The Asian Chicken Stirfry is exceptional also!

Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant: Warm, fun and comfortable

The Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant is the modern-day brewpub. It retains the feel of a gathering place to enjoy fresh beer and great food (full service lunch, dinner and bar dining). The menu complements the fresh lagers and is great beer food!!! The brewery is showcased behind glass walls and is the centerpiece of the restaurants.

Favorite Dish: Start of with a seasonal beer like Winter Bock (which is a strong, dark-flavored, creamy malt combined with just a gentle hint of sweetness), or a Märzen (which is a smooth, mildly sweet, auburn colored lager...originating from Bavaria where it was brewed in March or 'Märzen' in German).

There is a full-service menu which offers many different varieties of food, but since we were not in the mood for a large dinner, appetizers were the appropriate choice. Since there were four of us, we ordered Gordon Biersch Garlic Fries, Quick Fried Calamari with Spicy Marinara, Crispy Artichoke Hearts Tossed with Parmesan served with Lemon Aioli, Grilled Chicken Skewers Marinated in Tamarind and Garlic with Sesame Vinaigrette and Combo Platter of Skewers (chicken, shrimp and steak served with rice cakes.
