Plaza Las Americas, San Diego

An Outlet mall steps away from the mexican border. It have some nice brand name stores like Banana Republic, Nike, Gap, Adiddas, Puma, Polo Jeans, American Eagle,Children's place, Ralph Lauren, Old navy,Samsonite and Nordstrom. There's also a starbucks, MacDonal's, ihop and a restaurant area. It's a nice place to walk around it have a nice an open mexican design, with fountains and statues and a decorative giant metallic piñata. At first It was mostly visited by mexican tourists but lately you can find that this mall gain interest from a variety of tourist from everywhere, last time I found a group of tourist from France and other group from Spain and most of them look very pleased with their shopping. Across the street there are more stores if you didn't get enought...

What to pay: less than average.

The outlets are located just north of the San Diego/Tijuana Border. They're a great place to shop for items at a discount price. You can find a Gap, Banana Republic, Old Navy, Bath and Body, Hello Kitty, Nike, etc. Pretty much there is something for everyone.

What to buy: Personally, I would buy a caramel apple with peanuts at the chocolate shop. They are wonderful.

What to pay: Remember these are outlets, so you'll be saving $.

This is a wonderful, multicultural outlet mall that is spitting distance from Mexico. There are tons of brand name stores with cheap clothes, shoes, and many other items. You feel you have gone to Mexico, even though still in the US, as almost all the workers in the stores and the shoppers are Mexican. The cashiers frequently start to count your change back to you in Spanish out of habit. They then look up, see you are not Mexican, and say, sorry! and start to speak in English!!

What to pay: Just some examples: I got a suede leather jacket for $50, and some Nike tennis shoes for $50 as well. There is also tons of cheap, brand name clothes
