    Peaceful Beach

Most people in San Diego prefer La Jolla beach. I think Pacific Beach is more peaceful. Maybe course the wood bridge into the sea, the Pacific Beach seems more beautiful. Also, I saw a lot of couples, beautiful girls and healthy guys there. No doubts, they are a view. When I pick up the photo of Pacific Beach, I chose the one with a couple. They are looking at the sunset. I am admire them. They are really love each other. They are the most beautiful scenery there.

PB: For The Young & Young At Heart

Wandering on Garnet Avenue in Pacific Beach neighborhood --- This has been a Must Stop destination, for my daughters and I, for years! Am long overdue to write & tell you about it! The street to shop and dine, and even bar hop in the evening ( I suppose; never did this!), is Garnet Avenue. You will find The River, Buffalo Exchange, and a few other, very affordable clothing shops. Some are used/vintage shops. Others have the latest in casual American fashions. There are shoe stores, and about half a dozen tattoo parlours! Plus, many, many ethnic eateries.

In warm weather, you'll see barefeet and beach bicycles everywhere. Specially designed bike racks to lock your bike are really cool. Two shops sell the bicycles, too, and repair them. A very ( underline "very") casual scene of California youth. Garnet runs right into a large, popular beach, to the West!

There's a comedy club here, too, which I went to a long time ago. All in all, it is a great slice of California culture, without the high price.

Don't look directly at the sun!

Pacific Beach area of San Diego, California is locally referred to as P.B. This relaxed beach town is a mecca for surfers, sun worshipers, students, tourists, families and retirees alike. The eclectic residents form a melting pot type of community, with a variety of socioeconomic, religious, and racial backgrounds. There is plenty to do in P.B., with entertainment and recreation galore. luckily it's also just minutes from Sea World, Old Town San Diego, La Jolla and the world-renowned San Diego Zoo (which i didn't enjoy).

Another enjoyable benefit of PB is that it is only about 5 miles north of Mission Bay (See my Mission Bay post). A Paved walkway runs parallel with PB. This allows runners, walkers, and roller bladders to enjoy the beach at a faster pace. One can also find great restaurants, beach activities (drinking and volleyball), along with a plethora of amazing contemporary beach housing.

    Good luck, have fun.

IF YOU ENHOY MY POST PLEASE GIVE POSITIVE FEEDBACK, THANKS.

    Pacific Beach

by davesut Written Mar 22, 2014

We only spent a few hours in Pacific Beach, late afternoon and evening. Not sure we saw the best of it. The sand is pretty cool, the sea great fun. A walk along the pier is a must. I was not a fan of the sea front promenade area, a bit scruffy I thought but hey maybe I caught it on a bad day. There looked to be some great restaurants around, you would certainly not be short of choice. We decided this was one of those days when we went for a budget diner of which there is plenty of choice as well.

    A great beach community

The wonderful beach community of Pacific Beach is where I lived for a while and loved it. You think you have gone back in time to a 1960's Gidget surfer movie. Most of the residents are students or young professionals, every other person is carrying a surfboard. The main drag area of Garnet Ave has some awesome surfer, records, and used cloth shops, along with other very funky and fun shops for all types of 'off the beaten path' tastes. There are also a good selection of restaurants on the strip and this is a very big area for nightlife for the youthful set. Of course the main attraction is the beach, everybody navigates towards it. One of my favorite things about this town is how laidback and friendly everybody is. People are just happy to be in a area with beautiful weather, the beautiful ocean, and beautiful bodies without attitute.

Cool way to chill out watch surfers & soak up rays

by Lensmeister Written Aug 25, 2005

Pacific beach is a lovely place. It's has the feel of a local Californian town rather than part of a sprawling metropolis.

The beach is a lovely place to grab a towel, sun screen, a book, and just kick back and relax. Surfers use the area to pratice. It's a bit of a wierd sight when you stand at the cliff top on an evening and watch the sunset (it's one of the best places to view it in my book) as below you you have shadowy little figures sillouetted against the golden waters as the sun casts it's final rays of the day.
