by Chip_Master A great park with great rides and shows. If you go during the heat of summer bring your swimtrunks as there is a great waterpark for the kids. For those looking for the ultimate expensive excursion you can sign up for a Dolphin encounter or a meal with Shamu. Sorry we passed on these and did them for a bit cheaper across the border.

I generally stay away from amusement parks. But I loved Sea World because the animals won me over. The dolphin show is a must see. They are too damn cute. A word about weather. Southern California day and night temperature differ dramatically. Don't go on a wet ride in the evening because you'll be cold and wet.

I liked Sea World overall a lot more then the SD Zoo so if time is limited I'd recommend this place instead. There were some rides I remember thinking were fun and also the orcas and other sea shows were cool to see. Leave a Comment

I really enjoyed the shows at SeaWorld. They were really creative and also really funny. It's also really cool to see dolphins jumping about. SeaWorld for me is a must see because of the beautiful animals. It's also a really great place to learn about them. The Manatee Rescue was incredible. They are amazing animals and seeing the injuries that many have suffered makes you realize how fragile even huge animals like the Manatee are. The sharks were cool too. You literally get to walk through them, they are swimming all around you. We got some great pictures of sharks swimming over our heads. Leave a Comment

I took my 17 month old son to Sea World and he probably had the happiest day of his life there. Shamu, the Cirque de la Mer, the shark tunnel, the pet show. It was a fantastic experience and well worth the pricey admission. Be sure to take a trip to the top of the Southwest Airlines tower to get a fabulous view of the area. Okay...I have need going to Sea World since the 70s, but hadn't been there for about 5 years. We went on a Wednesday in July (great idea to go M-W) and got there as the gates opened at 9am (another great idea). I bought a discount code on e-bay (search sea world discounts) for 99 cents and ended up saving 20% on all my tickets!!! ( I saved over $50 bucks) I even got two day tickets with the discount price. I highly recommend this to everyone because deep Sea World discounts are not readily available on-line. The park was wide open all morning. I rode Atlantis (okay...not that thrilling) and all the other rides without waiting at all. We then started to see all the shows. The kids liked the Sea Lion show best, followed by the Pets, then Shamu, Cirque and the dolphins. Shamu was like a feel-good, get with nature "show". It wasn't even really a show. He splashed everyone and that was about it. Too much video wall and not enough show. We almost closed the park (11 was too late for us) and be warned...it gets chilly at night! If you plan to stay, bring layers or a jacket. We all enjoyed the day but a warning...we passed by Saturday and saw miles of cars at 1pm still trying to get in. I would never go on a weekend in the summer! The wait times for rides had to be over an hour..... Leave a Comment

We saw all of the shows at SeaWorld and were mostly happy with all of them. The FOOLS WITH TOOLS Sealion and Otter show was the most boring one for us (my husband and I are 27 & 28 years old). I was disappointed with the show because the Sealions and Otters have so much potential but the show was just not funny and the tricks were dull. The stadiums are hot during the day so if you're going to sit for 20-30 minutes with the sun beating down on you you'd like to be entertained...and wear a wide-brimmed hat. Otherwise, the shows were excellent. I definitely recommend staying into the evening if you can. The evening Shamu show was relaxing, cool, and lots of fun. The fireworks are nice and taking the SkyTower at dusk is a must-do. I don't know if there would be any way to see all the shows and all of the exhibits in one day. Certainly not with a toddler. We made a committment to see two-three shows each day and we still had shows to see on the third day. We saw everything and exhausted Sea World at a leisurely pace in 18 hours over three days. We didn't have anything else on our San Diego agenda and it worked out well for us. Leave a Comment

We spent 2 1/2 days at SeaWorld and had a wonderful time. We took our 2 year old son and purchased one Silver Passport and one Fun Card. Having the flexibility to come and go with the Passport made the trip very relaxing and enjoyable. We didn't have to worry about waiting in long lines to pay parking fees or buy tickets. We got lots of discounts inside the park. SeaWorld has fairly lenient policies for bringing in your own drinks and snacks (no sandwiches)...so we planned ahead and saved some money. The park is very clean and the animal exhibits are so nice. I liked it better than the zoo because you just don't get the feeling that these animals are rotting away in an enclosure, miserable. They are very interactive and have lots of love and training. My only minor complaints were that the SeaWorld staff can be a bit micro-managing...limiting where you may park in the parking lot. Despite arriving early you may have to park at the very back of the lot...stroller parking was a bit annoying...and also micro-managed. And I found the signs inside the park to be rather confusing. It's difficult to tell which way the arrows are really pointing, so be prepared to spend a lot of time trying to match the map to the park and the signs. Leave a Comment
