Palace of Fine Arts/Exploratorium, San Francisco
It was late in the day and at the end of our wonderful Tour with Wanch & Annapet & Dulce ,and this was the last part we saw of San Francisco and it was well worth seeing it. The ExploratoriumThere were still some white Swans in the Lagoon around this magnificent structure and it should look fabulous during the day time I bet.
Fondest memory: The location is Marina Boulevard and Baker street.
This Domed structure or '' Rotunda '' of the Roman Greek era was built in 1915 for the Panama International Exposition .It was restored in 1967 .It is a beautiful structure ,and I am glad we had a chance to see it.
Fondest memory: Located at Marina Boulevard & Baker street.
An amazing place!
Huge, old, beautiful artistic buildings. The only use is of people walking around, staring at the columns, taking pictures, admiring its beauty.
It's not a museum, not a palace, but ruins of a building originally built for the Panama Pacific International Exhibition. Everything else was torn down, but the people thought this Palace of the Fine Arts was to beautiful to be destroyed, so they saved it. It was even restored by a wealthy guy 35 years later.
Fondest memory: There was a guy sitting somewhere beside a column, playing a simple tune on his flute. You could hear him everywhere, a magic moment. It took a while to find him and look at him playing with his eyes closed, just ejoying himself and his music. It's a melancholic moment because it's just ruins, but it's energetic at the same time - because it is there just for the sake of being there and being beautiful!
One of my favorite movie's is 'Time After Time,' and this is one of the great locations in that film! That is why I was compelled to take many shots of this great structure!
Fondest memory: This photo is directed at the great motif's that are emphasized on the facade! Take some time to just wander aimlessly around these grounds...and daydream!
Palace of Fine Arts at Marina District. Close to the Exploratorium. To me, it looked like heaven on earth. I never expected to see such an old and pretty monument in the middle of a SF neighborhood.

Well, that's the Palace of Fine Arts... which means we are now at the artsy section of beautiful San Francisco!!
When visiting San Fancisco, I would highly recommend going to the waterfront. Plenty of shops and seafood to go around for everyone! And please take your picture with the sea lions!! Also, try and find your way down Lombard Street...and take turns driving down the winding road! It's lots of fun!!
Fondest memory: I loved walking around the Palace of Fine Arts!
