YBCA by hairpin Just across the street from MOMA (Museum of Modern Art at 3rd and Mission), is my favorite place to see current artists' work, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts. If you like looking at new art, see art that isn't in books, support the local art scene, or just want to be stimulated, head here. There are large spaces for installations, a theater for film, and also several spaces for dance. If you can see SF's Lines Ballet in the theater here, do so. Every seat is good, and at a fair price. by Jeannette1 San Francisco is filled with excentric, unconventional people. This also applies to artists. Here is a sculpture made from an old truck on display at the Museum of Modern Art. Leave a Comment

by Juliet67 The Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco (FAMSF) is the City's largest public arts institution. Comprised of the M.H. de Young Memorial Museum and the California Palace of the Legion of Honor, FAMSF is also the City's most successful public/private partnership. Although a designated City department, most of the Museum's operational funding and all funding for art acquisitions and exhibitions are raised privately. Leave a Comment

by Nobbe Palace of fine Art's Exploratorium on Lyon Street. The 'palace' is a leftover from the expo in 1915, and have now become an exploratorium, a museum of science and technology with 'live' exhibitions where you could see, listen, touch and explore.
