This is a tiny bar in the lower Haight that is something out of a Tim Burton movie. It has the best DJs in town that play music from South Pacific to CAN. It serves on beer and wine but I manage to tie one on in there always. The owner is some what of a flirt with me, I have been coming in now for 12 years. I would do tarot cards for him using bar coasters, and he loves it!

Dress Code: You have got to come in a see this place, the walls are molded to look like a funky cave, and there are pillows on the floor and indentations for nooks or 4. It’s out of this world!

This is a small pub in the lower haight. What makes it cool is the backroom decor is made to resemble caves with stone walls and little coves with tables.
Techno, Ambient and Jungle Music with DJ Mohsen.

    Dress Code: No Requirements.

Just a visual feast. This bar is designed very peculiarly, but still maintains a "local" hangout feel. We had a few beers here after shopping all day and if we didn't have to get back to Berkeley to get ready for the evening's activities, I would've liked to stay here a while.

    Dress Code: Casual

A small bar on Lower Haight (between Fillmore and Divisadero) that has a unique style about it. When I say small I mean small. The total occupancy in this place is probably about 30 or so people. The walls and some seats are crafted out of chicken wire and stucco which make a sort of cave effect. Some walls are covered by sheet metal. additional furniture is crafted from wood and can be sometimes less than comfortable. none the less, any discomfort that you may experience will soon be dulled by one of the many beers that they have on tap. Weekend crowds pack the place solid and there's usually a DJ in a small booth near the bathrooms playing something unpredictable.

Dress Code: Wear what you will. Nothing too dressy mind you. Jeans and a t-shirt are just fine.
