The Empire Plush Room on Sutter has closed at this location but will re-open at The Nikko Hotel in Feb. 2008.

Well I went to see a friend of mine, Sony Holland who is a jazz artist here in SF performing along with others in June of last year.

This is a great venue for shows. There are nightly shows which vary in price, we paid $20.00 per person with a two drink minimum.

A nice ambience and perfect for performances.

BTW If you're in town June 2005 Sony will be performing again from 6/1 thru 6/4.

Dress Code: There is no specific dress code however do not wear jeans and a t-shrit. It's a night out so dress appropriately.

The Plush Room: Jazzing it up in a former speakeasy

Located off the lobby of the York Hotel, the Plush Room hosts mostly caberet style music. They do, however, sometimes host jazz shows. This venue started out as a speakeasy during prohibition, but seems to have survived all these years. Great place for a show. Intimate, great acoustics. Tasty cocktails.

Dress Code: Casual elegance. Tie not required, but dressing smartly would be appreciated.
