The beauty of visiting San Francisco is the other attractions nearby. One of the side trip should be across the Golden Gate Bridge to Sausalito in Marin county. It's very small but it lends a spectacular view of San Francisco. One suggestion is to eat at a restaurant by the wharf so you can admire SF from afar.
Take a drive to Sausalito, in Marin County. This community is built up on a hill and offers some spectacular views of the Bay. Enjoy a nice lunch and an afternoon of shopping or taking a stroll along the marina.
Headlands State Park. Has the most beautiful view from far above the north side of the Golden Gate Bridge. The park has access to a small sandy beach, and trails throughout the headlands. The
view of San Francisco from the headlands will leave an impressin you will never forget. For anyone who enjoys the outdoors and hiking this is top of the list for anyone visiting the Bay Area.
Some of these places are, er, a little interesting.
