Tid Bits of info for SF

    by skyeangel07 Updated Sep 26, 2007

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Luggage and bags: You should definately pack a suitcase that has wheels so you can easily manuever around with it. Depending on what type of transporation you take from the airport this could be very important. If you take the Bart Rail, this would indeed make it easier for you.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Def bring comfortable shoes for walking. It's a city so while exploring most people do that by foot. San Fran has very steep hills on a lot of streets so if you're walking around for hours in shoes that aren't comfortable it will make it very hard! The weather is very different. Its never usually warmer than 70 deg for the most part and at night its in the mid fifties to low sixties. Not only does it get a bit nippy, but there's quite the wind chill! So bring some warm clothes for night! Other than that you can dress how you want. I would def say to check the weather. Sept/Oct are the best weather months. It's very warm during the day.

    Photo Equipment: I believe if you're on a vacation/trip a camera is a necessity.

Miscellaneous: Be sure to check out Fishermans Wharf, Union Square, Alcatraz, and the Golden Gate Bridge. There are different areas inside the city. (Nob Hill, the Financial District, Pacific Heights, etc) Beware of walking in the Tenderloin at night. There are junkies all over the streets and its not a very safe area. You will be fine during the day, but if you are in that neighborhood at night at least have mace!

Luggage and bags: Bring extra luggage or pack light.

Miscellaneous: Wine is best brought back in a cardboard box lined with styrofoam.
