Weather you do or don't, up to you
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: We bought light rain jackets to bring with us- the ones that fold into themselves, and I had cause to use mine twice during our trip- once on the boat going over the bay to Saulsalito and once on the bus tour going over the golden gate bridge. The wind that comes down through the middle of the bay is COLD!!
Rain rain go away
Luggage and bags: Backpack to put umbrella in
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Comfortable sweaters and sneakers
Miscellaneous: I was there for the record setting 25 day of rain in a month. Rain doesn't bother me at all, just make sure you have an umbrella. Most of the rain I walked in were light sprinkles
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Bring clothing for any climate as the temperature may change by the minute. The summer months are usually the coldest, as the fog comes in almost every day. September is the hottest. Bring comfortable walking shoes; there are hills. In the winter months, bring rain gear.
General Packing tips...
Luggage and bags: Pack light, as you probably won't have a car (or will wish you didn't!) and will have to take public transport. For this reason, it makes sense to take a backpack or small roller bag that you can easily lug around.
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: In winter, you may see some rain, and it will definately be cool. Even in summer, however, I found it cool and I had to buy a jacket to keep me warm while out at night. So take a small umbrella and a light jacket, no matter what season you visit in.
Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: Don't forget your sunscreen in summer, because if you're out a lot during the day, you may end up looking like a lobster if your skin is prone to burning!
A light raincoat for winter
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: I was there in january an brought my usual european winter clothes: much too warm!!
Agreed, at some point, weather could be cold but during my stay, I had 15-20°C most of the time.
A warm sweater and a light raincoat would have been much more handy than my heavy warm jacket...
The weather was often grey/rainy/cloudy but not often too cold...
Walking shoes, cab fare, umbrella, warm coat
Luggage and bags: Bring bags enough to carry all your goodies home from Union Square
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Bring comfy shoes as you will inevitably be walking. As well as a raincoat or umbrella as it does rain here often and at random. Warm coats and scarves for cold evenings with fog.
Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Chapstick?
Photo Equipment: Bring it all. You'll want to take photos of everything. This is a very pretty and interesting city.
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: I don't care if it's July - bring a sweater, a raincoat, and an umbrella. Although it can get warm in the city, very often in the afternoon the will still dip dramatically and you'll be wishing you had another layer (we were happy to have these coats, even though we were biking over the Golden Gate and up and down hills).
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Definitely bring an umbrella, sweater, jacket no matter what time of year you come.
Photo Equipment: Everything in this picture is painted on the building except for the door handle and the light. Cool!
Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: You can venture to the beach, but unless you bring a wetsuit, I wouldn't swim for more than 5 or 10 minutes. The water is VERY cold.
Miscellaneous: Rollerblades to skate Golden Gate Park. An extra heart, because it's true, you will leave yours here.
Luggage and bags: It better have wheels. Tthis place has a lot of hills.
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: It rains. I mean it rains a lot. I mean it rains in buckets and in drizzles. Bring a slicker or a raincoat. Bring a hat.
Miscellaneous: Here is Paul Smith modeling the latest in outdoor apparel.
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: This may be California but YOU MUST when in San Francisco take A. An umbrella B. A wind breaker C. A warm Jacket. If not, you will be spending a pretty penny for new ones . This goes for the summer as well.
Photo Equipment: There are so many things to take photos of in this city. I suggest you take the best camera you have for the best memories.
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: It rains a lot in San Fran, esp. during the late fall, winter, and spring seasons. In the city, it never gets really warm in the summer either. Plan on having a light jacket with you at all times during the summer and a warm, heavy coat during the winter. Always have an umbrella handy.
